Pretenden imponer mayores exigencias en licencias de conducir

A quienes quieran acceder a una licencia profesional o clase B, la aprobación de cursos teóricos y prácticos de escuelas de conductores reconocidas por el Estado... Los diputados RN, Pedro Browne, José Manuel Edwards, Leopoldo Pérez y Alejandro Santana presentaron una moción que pretende modificar la Ley de Tránsito haciendo un cambio en la definición de conductor profesional, con la finalidad de exigir

El documento indica que "toda persona que mantenga la licencia de conducir correspondiente y cuya actividad laboral principal, sea la conducción de vehículos a motor dedicados al transporte de mercancías o de personas, lo que se acreditará por certificación expedida por la empresa o institución para la que se ejerza dicha actividad".

El proyecto, exige que quienes deseen acceder a esta licencia profesional deberán aprobar cursos teóricos y prácticos de las escuelas de conductores debidamente reconocidas por el Estado, los que deberán tener una duración mínima de un mes, en lo que respecta a los cursos teóricos y de dos meses en lo que se refiere a los prácticos.

Asimismo, los parlamentarios también disponen que para obtener licencia Clase B, y con el fin de disminuir la alta tasa de accidentes de tránsito, se hace necesario que quienes lo hagan por primera vez, deban aprobar un curso en una escuela de conductores, debidamente acreditada ante el Ministerio de Transportes.

Finalmente cabe señalar que la moción busca considerar como licencia profesional a los conductores de carrobombas, ya que actualmente, ésta está contemplada como licencia especial clase F.
